Ok we’ve gone over the basics, explained in detail why affiliate marketing is, what many of the acronyms mean, and dipped our toes into breaking down our niche into more manageable pieces.
Now it’s time we started putting this all together.
As an Affiliate Marketer you are going to come across two different groups of people on the internet, Window Shoppers, and Motivated Buyers.
This is where the Micro Niche plays such an important roll. We learned in the last installment how to modify our Niche into a Micro Niche.
Take This Couple for example:Sam stayed out a bit late last night drinking with his buddies and his wife is a bit miffed about it. so he sits down at his keyboard, pulls up Goggle, and types in the keyword ‘diamonds’ (yes Sam has some serious making up to do). When he hits ‘Enter’ 1 of 52 Million pages full of diamond listings appear before him. Diamond Engagement Rings, Diamond Pendants, Wholesale Diamonds, Shop for Diamonds.and Sam may even click on one or two before he gets up grabs a beer from the fridge and notices the game is on in the other room and his team is on the 14 yard line.
Now Sam’s wife Betty happens by and see’s the millions of pages staring at her from the monitor. but unlike Sam, Betty knows exactly what she wants and carries Sam’s Credit Card in her purse for these very occasions.
Betty sits in front of Goggle and types in “white gold diamond stud earrings”. Now out of those same 52 Million results, less then 1% are showing for Betty. She now can point and click her way into an 5.00 pair from your clients site!
Sam, in this case, is the Window Shopper. he knows he wants something but is undecided on what it may be. Betty on the other hand knows Exactly what she wants and is a highly Motivated Buyer.
What we, as Affiliate Marketers, want is to cut a path around those that are browsing, and focus our time and energy on the Motivated Buyer. sure we may get a tremendous hit (or lack of hits) on our site after these changes occur, but an amazing thing starts to Happen! Our Conversion rate jumps from around 1% to an incredible 9%, 12% or more.
