LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)– As part of the mission to reestablish itself as the leading destination for motion picture and television postproduction services, Laser Pacific recently added three key personnel: Richard Jastrow as Executive Vice President; Marcie Jastrow as Executive Vice President of Theatrical Sales; and Cliff Dugan as Executive Vice President of Entertainment and Television Sales. With new management in place, the company has begun to reassert itself as a leading service provider, talent leader and research and development pioneer in the postproduction technologies of today and tomorrow.

Laser Pacific, a pioneering postproduction company, was purchased last year by an affiliate of H.I.G. Capital as part of the Telecorps family of companies, a cohesive group of feature film and television service companies that includes Post Works new York, Orbit Digital, Hula Post, Coffey Sound and Wexler Video. Clients can now get all of their services from one group, from production and editorial through postproduction and delivery.

“Laser Pacific has been at the forefront of postproduction technology and service and will be again under the guidance of Richard, Cliff and Marcie,” says David Rosen, Telecorps’ Chairman of the Board. “They have been some of Laser’s fiercest competitors in the past and bring a wealth of experience to the company. Motion picture and television customers both old and new will reap the benefits of Laser Pacific’s new management team.”

the Laser Pacific facility is unique in that it is a campus of buildings on and around N. Cahuenga Blvd., rather than housed under one roof, as is typical for most post companies. As Executive Vice President Richard Jastrow points out, it has a feel akin to a studio lot, a model with which he is very familiar. Jastrow spent over 11 years in facility management at Paramount Pictures, culminating in his role as Vice President of Editorial Operations. he was responsible for reshaping the studio’s postproduction operations and turning it into a profitable, state-of-the-art arm in only 24 months. At Laser Pacific, he will unify all the brands under Telecorps so that they work together, yet maintain their own identities.

“Our vision is to take clients from production all the way through postproduction,” he says. “With Wexler Video and Coffey Sound as the production arm, Hula Post and Orbit Digital serving the nonlinear requirements and PostWorks new York and Laser Pacific handling the finishing and delivery, we’re going to be the preferred solution from on-set production to postproduction and delivery.”

Marcie Jastrow, Executive Vice President of Theatrical Sales, comes to Laser Pacific with strong studio and talent connections. she spent seven years in feature film and television sales at Hollywood Digital and then eight years of file-based workflow management in building up the feature film department at Modern VideoFilm. As Modern’s Senior Vice President of Sales, she shepherded the postproduction and delivery of Avatar.

“With new management in control, I believe that Laser Pacific will be able to grab its rightful place as the leader in technology, talent and services,” she says. “We will build the new postproduction facility model for tomorrow.”

With over 20 years of postproduction experience under his belt, Executive Vice President of Entertainment and Television Sales Cliff Dugan will ramp up the television department, utilizing Laser Pacific’s highly-touted file-based workflows for feature films as a blueprint for television clients. Dugan, who had been with Ascent Media since 1995, served the past seven years as Ascent’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where he spearheaded sales for the company’s facilities at Encore Hollywood, Level 3 Post and R!OT and launched R!OT’s television division in 1999.

“I’m excited to be working with Laser Pacific’s Emmy-winning engineering team and operational staff in developing new data-centric workflows that meet the time-sensitive, financial and creative demands of productions today,” he says.
