Internet Affiliate Marketing – 5 Hints for Choosing Your ClickBank Product

Picking up the right product to promote is half the success. There is a lot of weird stuff on CB these days, that’s why we’ll be talking about 5 hints for choosing the right product.

ClickBank gravity has been discussed in length in one of our previous articles. It’s an important aspect of any CB product, but not the only one to consider.

The main thing to remember is that high gravity can mean 50 affiliates doing thousands of sales or a large number of affiliates, each with his couple of sales.

How much you earn per sale is probably the most interesting and pivotal element in the internet affiliate marketing, because you can make a key decision here. you can focus on:

  • “micro payments” – large number of small sales
  • “macro payments” – only a few expensive sales

Regardless of your niche, choosing one of these options will force you to create a very different campaign.

Your success with micro payments will depend on your ability to drive large amounts of traffic and on a decent conversion rate. your materials can be less persuasive (only theoretically, why the hell would you limit yourself, right?).

Are you wondering what it takes to make any luck with macro payments?

  • great copywriting & video skills
  • authoritative brand
  • top quality product

In essence, persuading people to trade $497 for your amazing ebook is not something for newbies. it doesn’t have to be $497 really, even $97 is something people will think about more than twice.

The bigger your expertise is the more you can think about trying the macro payment concept.

Before you happily jump to the conclusion that this is the product that will make you happy and rich via the internet affiliate marketing, you should take a look on the other similar products available in the CB marketplace.

By default, products are ranked by popularity. You can change that to:

  • Gravity
  • Avg $ / Sale
  • Avg % / Sale (related to all commissions of a vendor)

Now, if your chosen products appears on the top of your list with multiple sorting options, it passes this test.

The last option might seem unrelated, but if the vendor is giving high commissions, it means he might have a lot of affiliates – therefore his products could be making money.

So, now you’ve done all the analytical and “scientific” testing and it’s time to take it to the next level.

Imagine you are a customer and go through the sales pitch. Look for:

  • grammar errors
  • irrelevant statements (like “SEO is outdated”)
  • length in comparison to price
  • bullet points

Evaluate the whole sales pitch and then ask yourself an honest question – would you buy the product? your answer can very well determine your decision whether to promote the product at all…

The last point is just a reminder of common sense. every marketer should have a BS (bullsh**) detector which will immediately point out obvious rubbish.

There is a good number of BS words and claims, such as:

  • autopilot
  • exact cash number ($218,224.29)
  • pictures of desired holidays
  • working 4 hours per week
  • irrelevant claims (again, like “Social Media don’t work”)

You’ll get better at it with the increasing number of sales letters you’ll go through.

One piece of advice at the very end – make a few friends in this area and before you start promoting a new product, consult it with them…
